昔の話ばかりして "Those are the days."

薄衣を羽織り集ひぬ老い来たる
An assembly of the old was there ,
ladies dressed in sheer were there.
スピーチに英語を交え夏料理
A speech in Japanese & English.
I got you,as I did in the old days.
We enjoyed summery dishes.
夏座敷病得しことなど語り
Some told they had been suffering from illness
in the post-party party I joined
at a small Japanese summer-style room
夏の宿昔の話ばかりして
On the summer night of June
gathering in a hotel,
awaking old memories,
we said nothing but "Those are the days."
早苗田やまた新しきことをやる
Nursery of sprouts of rice,
Some starts learning again, and
the other begins new business.
待たせても私の一歩蝸牛
Even though you are waiting,
I shall make a slow movement,
as slow as a snail.
