花見舟 A boat for cherry-blossom viewing
花衣湊町より舟にのる
Dressed for cherry-blossom viewing,
and departing from Minatomachi-port
落語家の背高きいっそう長閑
He is a tall comic storyteller,
the spring dayis more peaceful ,
as he tells some stories,
春の川水を操る大阪の
Under the good and comfortable conditions ;
the stream of the spring water
is conntrolIed in the City, Osaka
どろどろとありなむ水や花見舟
floating on the muddy water
花の舟見慣れし橋の下をゆく
the Ebisubashi bridge,familiar to us,
the Boat decoated with cherry-blossoms
goes on under the bridge
花見など知らぬと若き街灯り
Indifferenceｓ toward blossoms were among the young,
the town was lighted brightly like in another world
くぐる橋ありたる朧城の景
A scenic spot was there; a view of Osaka Castle,
after passing through under the bridge,
In a haze of spring
